Credit Union of New Jersey Foundation Gives Away $5,000 in Scholarship Funds
Ewing, NJ (PRWEB) July 14, 2014 -- Credit Union of New Jersey’s College Scholarship Program is offered annually to members as well as residents in Burlington and Mercer Counties who are getting ready to begin their college career. Two $2,500 scholarships were awarded to credit union members and residents in Burlington and Mercer Counties to use at the college or university of their choice. Students interested in applying were asked to send in school transcripts, teacher’s recommendation, SAT/ACT score, and an essay.
The 2014 Credit Union of New Jersey Scholarship winners were; Nicholas DeMarie from Nottingham High School and Shahzeb Sohail from Hamilton High School West. With over 60 applicants, these students proved most worthy.
CEO and Chairman Andrew Jaeger said, “Providing our young members with a chance to ease the burden of paying for college allows us to live our mission, which is to help people improve their financial lives. We’ve been doing this for over fifteen years, and each year the students get better and better. We hope these students are proud of their achievements.”
