HORNE’s Growing Healthcare Delivery Institute Adds Brown to Leadership Team
Ridgeland, Miss. (PRWEB) July 08, 2014 -- HORNE LLP announced today the hiring of Alexandra Brown, M.D., as the associate director of its Healthcare Delivery Institute. Brown joins Director Thomas Prewitt, M.D., on the leadership team of the institute where she will focus on the development and instruction of the Advanced Training Program.
“People often ask what a surgeon and pathologist are doing working for an accounting firm,” Brown said.
“We want to make a difference in the way health care is delivered in the Southeast by helping providers prepare for the health care delivery models of the future. We think we can affect that change most effectively practicing macro medicine at HORNE.”
The Advanced Training Program in Healthcare Delivery Improvement is a cornerstone of HORNE’s Healthcare Delivery Institute and has graduated three classes since its inception in 2013. The ATP trains students, who fill roles in their health care organization ranging from clinicians to CFOs, in both the theory and methodology of continuous quality improvement in the health care environment. The program is a sister-program to Dr. Brent James’ internationally recognized Advanced Training Program at Intermountain Healthcare.
“The growth in demand for the ATP is indicative of the change facing our health care providers,” Prewitt said.
“The reality of our world today is that health care finances are decreasing. Medicare reimbursement is on a steady decline and private payers will eventually follow suit. We’re teaching providers how to thrive through coming changes by changing their own cultures and utilizing actionable data to improve quality and reduce costs.”
The Advanced Training Program opened registration this week for its Fall 2014 and Winter 2015 terms. Details about the program, including exact dates and tuition fees are available at connect.horne-llp.com/hdiatp. Faculty includes local, regional, and national speakers with expertise in health care delivery, process improvement, data analytics, finance, clinical integration, leadership and technology.
