Door County Fair Arrives July 30 - August 3!
Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin (PRWEB) July 07, 2014 -- This year’s Door County Fair will take place July 30 – August 3 at John Miles County Park, 812 N. 14th Ave., in Sturgeon Bay. Musical acts on the Miller Lite Midway Stage will include: Vic Ferrari on Wednesday, Road Trip on Thursday, Boogie & the Yo-yo'z on Friday and Madison County on Saturday. All shows start at 7:30pm.
Budweiser Grandstand Events planned for the 2014 Door County Fair include Stock Car Racing on Wednesday at 6:30pm, Denil Auto & Trucking brings you Night of Destruction, 2-man Enduro and Deomolition Derby on Thursday at 6pm, The EIS Implement/NEW Motorsports Truck and Tractor Pulls on Friday at 7pm, and Door County Cooperative/NAPA brings AMA Flat Track Motorcycle Racing on Saturday starting at 7pm. Closing out the Grandstand events of the 2014 Door County Fair on Sunday at 1:30pm is the Impact Survival Series.
The Door County Fair, along with the Sturgeon Bay Pioneer Fire Company and Jacksonport Firefighters Association, will be holding their Second Annual Firefighter Challenge on Saturday. The competition will begin at 2:00pm and is open to firefighters from all over Northeast Wisconsin.
Family fun is the name of the game with carnival rides for all ages being provided by Tip Top Shows. Midway rides will open at 5:00pm on Wednesday and will run through 11:00pm. Kiddie rides begin to shut down at approximately 10:00pm. The Cellcom Festival Tent will be buzzing with kids’ activities including – but not limited to – a Clownfest, sing-alongs with Randy Peterson,Tunes in the Tent, entertainment by Armenrah the Mime, Juggling with Doug the Jug, and Magic of Jim Lenz. Children can also test their abilities at the Kids' Contests (12 and under), and children of ALL ages can compete at games like Trivial Pursuit, Name That Tune, and a Spelling Bee.
Area farms will be represented by a wide variety of agricultural and animal exhibits, while 4-H and Junior Fair events and competitions round out this year’s fair. The Drill Team Competition put on by Stock Horse of Wisconsin will be held on Saturday at noon.
Of course a wide variety of tasty food will be available for purchase. Start your day right with a full breakfast on Saturday. You can find many favorites including Renard’s cheese curds, Door County Cherry torte, brats, burgers, chili, and much more. No trip to the Door County Fair would be complete without a stop at the 4-H Junior Fair Dairy Bar in the Junior Fair/Home Arts Building for one of their famous ice cream treats!
Wednesday, Opening Day, fair entry is only $10 for persons riding rides and $5 for everyone else. Wednesday night admission does not include admission to the Grandstand Stock Car Races. The daily ticket price Thursday through Sunday will be $11 per person before 5:00pm, which includes all rides, musical and grandstand events. After 5:00pm, the price goes up to $13 per person. Discounts will be offered for the following: Senior Citizens $6 per ticket; Children 5 and under who are not riding rides are admitted for FREE; and Parking for the Door County Fair is free!
