Balanced Scorecard Institute Holds Alumni Breakfast in Botswana

The Balanced Scorecard Institute (BSI) held an Alumni Breakfast last week in Botswana for certified balanced scorecard delegates. Fifty five participants shared experiences and knowledge related to developing and managing with the balanced scorecard strategic management system.

Last week, BSI held an Alumni Breakfast at the Tlotlo Hotel Gaborone in Botswana. Drawing attendance from government officials as well as private organizations the meeting focused on sharing experiences and knowledge on the application of the Nine Steps to Success TM balanced scorecard framework with an emphasis on change management, strategy alignment, cascading and optimizing performance management through automation using proactive decision support information.

Keynote speakers at the conference included: Charles Odoch Langoya, BSI Regional Coordinator Africa; John Phatshwe from the Botswana National Productivity Centre and Peter Sedingwe from the Botswana Bureau of Standards.

While distributing copies of the Institute’s recent book, “The Institute Way”, Charles Odoch Langoya informed the group of the Institute’s commitment to supporting their institutions so they can successfully implement their scorecard systems.

Brigadier Barobi Mosugelo, of Botswana Defense Forces, said this in his closing remarks, “The meeting played a significant role in adding value to improvements needed to enhance the performance of public sector institutions.” He urged participants to put into practice what they learned during the meeting.
