INTEGRATED Healthcare Strategies, a national healthcare human resource consulting firm and leader in compensation and engagement surveys, recently published its 2014 National Healthcare Staff Compensation Survey.
The survey, released June 27, 2014, presents data on emerging positions in healthcare as well as trends and special pay practices around the country from a total of 908 participating healthcare organizations, representing more than 960,000 employees. National and regional data were summarized for 299 staff level jobs within departments including patient care, administrative, behavioral health/social work, finance, human resources, information systems, electronic health records, and more.
The data compiled for the National Healthcare Staff Compensation Survey is effective January 1, 2014.
A few key findings from the survey include:
- 2.6% average projected increase in healthcare staff-level employees salary
- $5,000 median bonus amount for rehabilitation and pharmacy positions
- 3% growth rate in nationally reported wages for certified inpatient coders from 2013
- Steady projected market increases for staff positions since the beginning of the economic downturn, but nursing jobs consistently remain at the top of projections
