NSG Precision Cells Unveils Microplate Validation Plates for UV/VIS/NIR Spectrophotometers and Fluorometers
Farmingdale, NY (PRWEB) July 08, 2014 -- In its efforts to provide the most, comprehensive, low-maintenance, and user-friendly line of standards for spectrophotometers, NSG Precision Cells has released a new line of microplate validation plates for UV/VIS/NIR spectrophotometers and fluorometers.
NSG has been a forerunner in calibration standards for spectrophotometers for a decade, with its unparalleled line of standards, including the acclaimed FUV series standard line. Noticing a gap in the market, NSG has responded to this by releasing a fluorescence microplate, absorbance plates, and an adapter that enables users to fit our existing line of standards into a microplate reader.
The fluorescence validation plate contains several materials, including anthracene, naphthalene, ovalene, and rhodamine that enable users to test for compliance among several wavelengths from 290-562nm. By using black anodized aluminium, stray light and cross talk between the wells is eliminated, and users can ensure that they get the most accurate, reproducible results. NSG’s fluorescence test microplate also enables users to check for linearity and features scratch-resistant optical surfaces that protect the material.
For spectrophotometers, NSG offers both a UV/VIS and a VIS microplate validation option. The UV/VIS plate features 48 wells of NSG’s FUV material for photometric accuracy and linearity checks in the range of 200-700nm, and 16 wells of holmium oxide for wavelength validation in the zone of 241.5-637.5nm. The VIS plate also contains holmium oxide, but features the HF specialized material for photometric and linearity checks in the range of 400-700nm.
For existing calibration customers, NSG’s 96 Well Plate Cuvette Adapter enables them to use any liquid or solid state standard, and fit it to a microplate reader for any validation purposes. Users can user standards for absorbance, wavelength accuracy, stray light or spectral bandwidth resolution in this adapter and get consistent, solid results. This design is a unique, patent-pending model that provides unparalleled resilience, performance, and adaptability for any microplate application.
In addition to the catalog microplate validation plate offerings, NSG also features the ability to construct custom plates for customers. Possible applications include fluorescence, absorbance, luminescence, and reflectance standards. The ability to mix and match is also a unique feature that no other manufacturer is offering at this time. Possible validation plates include a mixed fluorescence/absorbance calibration plate and reflectance/luminescence.
NSG is also able to integrate its liquid calibration material such as potassium dichromate, holmium perchlorate, potassium chloride, sodium iodide, potassium iodide, and sodium nitrite into its plates in whatever configuration customers would like.
NSG standards, as always, are manufactured in an ISO-17025 compliant lab and are NIST traceable. Customers can contact NSG at info(at)nsgpci(dot)com to request pricing for custom plates.
