New Puppet Based Comedy From LEXO TV Comes To The Silver Screen
Trinidad and Tobago (PRWEB) July 08, 2014 -- I'm Santana is a mini series of videos featuring a wide selection of characters in puppet form that has grown in popularity, mostly due to various social media outlets. The series built a solid following on YouTube and has steadily grown ever since. Created by Roger Alexis, a native of Trinidad, this series of short films is especially popular with many people who have roots to the Caribbean.
The I'm Santana series channel on YouTube has over 56,000 subscribers, as well as, 38,000 followers on Facebook. Due to the shows popularity, Alexis decided to make the first movie. The original I'm Santana The Movie came out in late 2010. The cost of the first movie was just below $50,000. The Feature film broke box office records in Trinidad and also did quite well in other Caribbean countries. The film was even shown in a few select cities in the United States. Due to the success of the first Santana movie, the team is currently working on the sequel.
"If you love Caribbean Culture then I'm Santana The movie 2 delivers that, it is a comedy/drama full of Caribbean Cultural bacchanal but delivered through the eyes of puppets. This movie will reflect and keep the culture of the Caribbean people alive," says Ian Pantin, crowdsourcing manager of LEXO TV.
In order to be able to complete the second I'm Santana movie, Roger Alexis and Ian Pantin are looking to raise the funds that are needed for VFX editing, sound, music and mixing. The assumption is that the second film will cost approximately the same amount of money as the first. They are looking to raise $50,000 via a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. The second I'm Santana movie will be premiering in New York, Toronto and London. Contributors to the company's Indiegogo campaign will be invited to one of the three screenings.
Roger Alexis was quoted as saying, " Our main challenge is funding the post production and even though there are hurdles to over come, we have a proven track record given the success of I'm Santana The Movie. We know we will complete part 2 timely and within budget. ".
