Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) July 09, 2014

Hotel Phillips, downtown Kansas City’s most historically revered hotel, is launching a new weekly music series at their adjacent and award-winning restaurant, 12 Baltimore. The series called, “Featured Fridays,” will showcase local up-and-coming musicians every Friday night from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. at one of Kansas City’s most intimate and energetic venues.

“Featured Fridays” kicks off with up-and-coming indie-pop singer and songwriter, Gracie Schram, performing on July 11, July 18, and July 25.

Schram is a local talent that is rising to the top of the national music scene. The talented 16-year-old is releasing her new album, "I Am Me,” on August 12th with Full Ride Records. Schram released her first album at age 10, in which the proceeds went to benefit underprivileged children in Haiti and Africa. The six-song CD raised more than $30,000 for The Global Orphan Project.

Katlyn Conroy of La Guerre/Cowboy Indian Bear joins “Featured Fridays” on August 1 and August 8. Conroy is a prolific singer and songwriter from Lawrence, Kansas. She is known for her stunning vocals, captivating lyrical content, and emotional transparency on stage. A 2013 winner of a Kansas City Pitch Award for Best Female Singer/Songwriter, she has been called the best voice in the Midwest.

“Hotel Phillips is thrilled to be bringing a new music experience to Kansas City. It is an honor to work with local emerging artists, such as Gracie Schram and Katlyn Conroy, and give them the platform to share their amazing talent with their hometown community,” said Gerald Rappaport, General Manager of Hotel Phillips. “At Hotel Phillips, we have always been a supporter of the local arts community, and we are excited about this new opportunity with the ‘Featured Fridays’ series.”

The weekly event at 12 Baltimore is free and open to the public. There is no cover fee and Hotel Phillips will offer free valet parking to all guests.

In addition, attendees will be able to order off of 12 Baltimore’s dining menu, with signature drinks and cuisine from Executive Chef Justin Voldan and Sous Chef Himesh Zimba, who recently won the prestigious Golden Fork Award at the “2014 Taste of Kansas City.”

Happy hour specials on Fridays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. will also be available, and include $3 draft beers and half-priced appetizers.

More artists to be announced. Hotel Phillips also offers live music on Thursday and Saturday nights. Please check http://www.hotelphillips.com for a complete list and schedule of musicians.
