Announcement: BluesGuitar.com Releases “Blues Intros in the Style of Eric Clapton - Blues Guitar Lesson”
(PRWEB) July 03, 2014 -- Although MacLennan says that he picked up this riff from Eric Clapton, it’s been played by 1000’s of blues guitarists and is a signature of the blues style of guitar playing. Jon demonstrates this easy blues riff in the key of A as follows; starting with an A7 triad at the 9th fret of the 3rd string with 2nd finger, 8th fret of the 2nd string with first finger and 9th fret of the first string with 3rd finger. Jon strums this triad with all down strokes counted as triplets for two beats and then simply moves it down one half step at a time, counted and strummed the same way, until he reaches the 5th fret on which he changes the triad voicing to an A Major by barring his first finger across the 5th fret of the first three strings and then does a hammer-on to the 6th fret of the 3rd string with his 2nd finger. MacLennan finishes off the riff by playing the 5th fret of the 5th string with first finger and does hammer-on’s to the 6th and 7th frets, which resolves to the five chord to complete the riff. Guitar TAB’s are available for this easy beginner blues guitar lesson at GuitarControl.com.
