The Exhibition “Flying Colors” by Japanese Contemporary Artist Yozo Abe Brooklyn, NYC from July 11th to August 11th, 2014
Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) July 08, 2014 -- An exhibition by Japanese contemporary artist Yozo Abe will be held from July 11th to August 11th, 2014 at PIPS in Brooklyn. On July 12th (Sat) from 7 pm to 9 pm, a reception party will be held. The party will give a large number of people the opportunity to enjoy Yozo’s art, and free beer, wine and soft drinks will be served.
In addition, at the Agora Gallery in New York, a group exhibition entitled “Cadences of Color” will be held from July 5th , 2014 to July 25th, 2014.
Yozo is a contemporary Japanese artist who creates beautiful, multi-layered canvases imbued with deep emotion exploring themes of passion and freedom. Yozo’s career as a painter has extended far outside Tokyo, Japan, and he has held successful solo exhibitions in Vancouver, Spain, Los Angeles and New York. This is his second solo exhibition at PIPS in Brooklyn, New York, and the exhibit features a collection of colorful paintings unlike anything Yozo has ever done before.
Yozo approaches a canvas without any assumptions or specific ideas regarding the direction the composition will take. Yozo says, “to me, drawing is a conversation with myself.” The art produced by these conversations never fails to charm the audience. Yozo’s inspiration for art is always spontaneous and naturally intuitive. His illustrations can be playful and innocent, but they also display uniquely eccentric sensibilities. His lovable yet quirky personality sometimes generates confusion or puzzlement in the audience. And, perhaps playfully, Yozo enjoys these moments of disconnect, a sensation that never fails to feature prominently in his art.
As a Japanese contemporary artist, Yozo strongly believes in the significance of expanding the reach of his art on a global scale. For instance, his 2011 summer exhibition at the James Gray Gallery in Santa Monica made an excellent first impression on the art community in California. This led to his successful debut at the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk in August 2011. The event was significant for Yozo because of the opportunity for him to immerse himself in LA’s culturally diversified art scene, community, and most importantly its people. Communicating with art lovers in Los Angeles greatly inspired him and gave him fresh insights. At the end of the event he had received overwhelming support and enjoyed widespread recognition from the enthusiastic Los Angeles crowd.
Following the greatly successful solo exhibition “Colors” at Gallery 69 in 2013, a Colors reception party was also held in Los Angeles. With the upcoming solo and group exhibitions in New York, it will be an exciting year. At Pips, the audience will be both delighted and challenged by these new and unique works by Yozo.
This year, Yozo has challenged himself to create artwork unlike anything the audience has ever seen before, displaying an entirely different side of his unique artistic sensibilities.
