Affordable Seating Helps Backwoods Bistro Update Their Seating

Backwoods Bistro opened its first restaurant in the quaint historic city of Sopchoppy, Florida in 2006. Sopchoppy is located approximately 45 miles south of Tallahassee and 10 short miles from the Gulf of Mexico. The Rice family opened the restaurant with Jesse as chef and the entire family helped the restaurant get started.
In June 2012, after over 5 years of running a successful restaurant and earning numerous awards, Backwoods Bistro expanded into Tallahassee bringing its unique cuisine to a larger venue. Jesse’s parents continued to manage the Sopchoppy restaurant running while Jesse and Taylor ran the new Tallahassee location. They have expanded their hours, enhanced the menu, added unique brunch offerings and are poised to fill a need for a “hip” unique restaurant/bar for the young set in Tallahassee. Music is also a highlight of the weekend offerings, providing a place for both local and national artists to showcase their talent.
The cuisine served at Backwoods Bistro is Southern / American. Some of their main dishes are Seminole Pride NY Strip Steak, farm raised by Seminole Indians locally in Florida, Scallops on Scallops and Cajun Shrimp Penne. Other entrees include Florida Panhandle Crab Cake Dinner, Kiwi Salsa Smothered Pork and Basil Goat Cheese Stuffed Frog Legs. They also serve pizza, pasta, burgers, oven toasted sandwiches and salads.
The Backwoods Bistro also has a banquet room that seats up to 40 people. It can be reserved for business meetings, birthdays, wedding, rehearsals or other private events. There is a 10 foot projector screen. There is live music every Thursday and Friday from 8 – 11pm and the bar is open late every night.
The owner of Backwoods Bistro, Jesse Rice was looking to replace its current seating with something that would be more comfortable. They chose to go with restaurant booths because their popularity with customers due to their comfort and the privacy they give diners. "As a restaurant that serves many people in the community and experiences heavy traffic throughout the day, Jesse was looking for dining booths that would improve the décor and be popular with their customers," Affordable Seating sales representative David explained.
