Hill’s Science Diet to Provide Food to Winnipeg Humane Society Animals
Winnipeg, MB (PRWEB) July 08, 2014 -- The Winnipeg Humane Society (WHS) is saying goodbye to Iams, the pet food supplier that has supported the shelter since 2006, and welcoming a new partnership with Hill’s® Science Diet®. Effective July 1, Hill’s Science Diet will be providing food to the up to 400 animals that are in the shelter’s care at any given time.
“Everyone here at The WHS – especially the animals – is so thankful to Hill’s for providing food for many hungry mouths,” said Bill McDonald, WHS CEO. “We’re grateful to Iams for their years of support, we couldn’t have fed thousands of animals without them.”
The WHS relies on food sponsorships to feed the more than 8,000 animals it receives per year. In an average month, The WHS uses 1700 pounds of dog/puppy food, 1000 pounds of cat/kitten food, 1200 cans of cat food and 750 cans of kitten food.
“Hill's Pet Nutrition is excited to partner with the Winnipeg Humane Society,” says Hill’s Pet Nutrition General Manager Joe Giles. “The Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love® program is a natural extension of our mission: To help enrich and lengthen the special relationships between people and their pets. Our goal is to ensure that every pet goes home healthy and happy. That means nourishing every pet that arrives at the shelter with Science Diet® and sending a Science Diet® adopter kit home with every new adoption.”
