Town of DeRuyter announced today that it has joined the Empire State Purchasing Group, a BidNet e-procurement system that provides vendors with an easier and more economical way to access and compete for local government bids.
Empire State Purchasing Group connects 2,505 departments from 163 local government agencies and provides a bid notification system that gives vendors instant access to Bids, RFP's, Quotes and Amendments online. Town of DeRuyter joined Empire State Purchasing Group in July, providing its vendors with convenient access to bid information for its solicitation postings and all other participating agencies on the system.

The network was developed and is powered by BidNet, an Albany, N.Y. company that manages 15 government purchasing groups nationwide through its e-procurement solution.

The Village of DeRuyter is about 20 miles northeast of Cortland and about 30 miles south of Syracuse. The east branch of the Tioughnioga River flows through the Town.
