Jerry J Petru Awarded Chartered Fellow Status
San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) July 08, 2014 -- Sirius Computer Solutions, Inc., a leading national IT solutions integrator, is proud to announce that Senior Technologist Jerry J Petru has been awarded the prestigious status of Chartered Fellow by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. BCS is a leading industry body for IT professionals around the world. Chartered Fellowship is awarded following a rigorous assessment of professional competence by a panel of independent peers drawn from the United Kingdom, Australia, the U.S. and other countries.
As a Fellow of BCS, Petru has demonstrated authority, eminence and seniority in the IT profession, lived up to a code of professional ethics, and committed to continuous professional development. Chartered status means he has consistently performed at the highest level of professional competence as assessed against the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA), an independent competence model for IT practitioners worldwide. This status also requires periodical reassessment to ensure the holder’s continuous investment in professional development and practice at the highest levels in his profession, as well as upholding the standards of the BCS code of conduct.

Petru currently manages the IBM Power portfolio of solution offerings at Sirius Computer Solutions, where he uses his broad-based experience to evaluate large corporate systems and identify operating systems and software issues between different hardware platforms. Over the past 15 years he has authored more than 30 different courses based on AIX, Security, Linux, Networking, SAN and Virtualization technologies. He also serves as secretary – an elected officer chair – for the BCS U.S.A. section.
