Austin, TX (PRWEB) July 09, 2014
MedSpring Urgent Care today announced plans to expand into San Marcos, TX in late 2014. The new walk-in clinic will be located at 301 N. Guadalupe St., San Marcos, TX 78666 on the northwest corner of N. Guadalupe St. and E. Hutchison St.
With doctors on-site from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, including Saturdays and Sundays, the new MedSpring clinic will offer treatment for routine illnesses and injuries from colds and coughs to cuts and broken bones. On-site lab tests, X-rays, vaccines and physicals will also available, along with occupational health services.
The new MedSpring Urgent Care will create an additional health care option for residents of San Marcos, which, according to the latest U.S. census data, is the nation’s fastest growing city, boasting an 8 percent annual growth rate.
“It’s important for a city with such a fast-growing population to have access to quality, convenient health care, which is exactly what the new MedSpring will provide,” said MedSpring’s Chief Medical Officer Jon L. Belsher, M.D. “After serving patients across the Austin area since 2011, we’re excited to expand further south into San Marcos.”
Located less than one mile from Texas State University, the new clinic will be easily accessible to the college’s more than 35,000 students. The clinic’s central location will give residents across the entire San Marcos area convenient access as well.
For non-life threatening conditions, MedSpring offers a cost-effective and time-saving alternative to the emergency room. A complete visit to MedSpring typically lasts less than an hour compared to the national average of four hours for an emergency room visit. Additionally, while co-pays vary by insurance provider, patients typically pay $35 to $50 per visit at MedSpring, compared to $100 to $200 or more at the ER. For those without insurance or with a high deductible, the savings can be even more dramatic with a typical MedSpring visit costing under $200 compared to well over $1,000 for a comparable ER visit. For conditions threatening a patient’s life, limb or vision, an emergency room is the most appropriate setting for care.
MedSpring patients enjoy a distinctive and relaxing atmosphere with unique amenities including complimentary snacks and beverages, in-room televisions and activities for children. Following their visit, patients rate MedSpring 4.9 out of 5 stars on average.
The San Marcos clinic will become MedSpring’s 18th urgent care clinic. All locations are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week, including weekends and most holidays.
