Anonymous, Self-Destructing Facebook Posts Anyone?
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 08, 2014 -- WARNING -- this Facebook Post will self-destruct in 5 minutes... or in 2 hours, or even 2 days, thanks to Sneakypost, a new iPhone, web, and Facebook app that recently debuted to five-star reviews.
With other apps such as Secret and Snapchat making multi-billion dollar headlines every week, self-destructing messaging apps are a hot topic right now, as well as apps that allow members to post online anonymously. "Our app is the first solution available to integrate directly with Facebook," says the company's CEO and co-founder, Joshua Rosenfeld.
Sneakypost lets anyone compose and post Facebook status updates with a timer. When the timer expires, the post is automatically deleted from Facebook, even if other users have shared or commented on it.
Additionally, Sneakypost enables a user to post messages anonymously at the same time to the app's Facebook Page, also called Sneakypost. Anyone that "Likes" that Page can see, comment, and share the anonymous messages from everyone...friends or not. Anonymous posts are also automatically deleted when the timer expires.
Critics of the application say it could be used for cyberbullying. "But that's exactly what makes Sneakypost so unique," Rosenfeld explains. "Cyberbullying is going to happen with or without our app, but with Sneakypost, a Facebook status update is absolutely sure to be deleted in the near future. With a regular Facebook post, a hurtful message can remain online forever. Plus it's a great way for bar owners or entertainers to share a secret to a limited VIP guest list."
Geoffrey Hoffman, the company's CTO and co-founder points out that the scheduled, auto-deleting technology can also be used strategically for online promotions, adding "Sneakypost gives companies a fast and easy way to post time-sensitive online promo codes that will be automatically removed later," a feature that can save time, money and hassle for web marketers.
Currently, Sneakypost is available on iTunes, Facebook and as a webapp at http://sneakypost.com. An Android version of the app, as well as a version for Twitter, are already in development.
Sneaky Media, LLC is a Dallas-based company whose founders have over 50 years of combined application development, design, and marketing experience for such companies as Apple, Bacardi, Kraft, Leo Burnett, Mobil, Playboy, and many more. Sneakypost is the first product in the Sneakysuite line, along with Sneakytweet and Sneakychat.
