Fundraising Promotion to Raise More Than $25,000

Wishes help sick kids feel better, and sometimes even get better, meaning a cruise vacation can actually mark a turning point in wish kids’ battles against their life-threatening medical condition.

The summer travel season is here and booking a cruise vacation with CruisesOnly in July provides customers with two important gifts — the gift of travel and the gift of giving back by helping grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Now through July 31, CruisesOnly, America’s Largest Cruise Agency, and flagship brand in the World Travel Holdings portfolio of brands, will donate $5 for every cruise vacation booked, up to $25,000, to Make-A-Wish and will also give customers the chance to make an additional $5 donation.

“Seventy-five percent of the wishes we grant involve travel and more than 1,000 of these are wishes to go on a cruise,” said David Williams, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America. “Wishes help sick kids feel better, and sometimes even get better, meaning a cruise vacation can actually mark a turning point in wish kids’ battles against their life-threatening medical condition. For this reason, the alliance that we have built over the years with CruisesOnly and World Travel Holdings is meaningful.”

World Travel Holdings has also had the honor of sponsoring and hosting wish sendoff parties, including nine-year-old Santiago from Miami. Diagnosed with a heart defect, Santiago’s wish was to go on a cruise. Santiago and his family set sail on April 28, 2013, and it was a cruise vacation they’ll never forget. And, Hunter, 13, from Massachusetts … diagnosed with malignant melanoma, Hunter’s wish was to go on a cruise because he thought "cruises are cool!" Hunter set sail on April 14, 2012, and had a wonderful time.

Make-A-Wish has been the signature charity for World Travel Holdings since July 2011. World Travel Holdings and its employees are dedicated to donating a minimum of $100,000 every year.
