Andover, MA (PRWEB) July 22, 2014
With less than one year to go until the end of support for Microsoft Windows Server 2003, AppZero has launched a promotional offer aimed at helping customers cost effectively migrate their applications to newer operating systems such as Windows 2012 and Azure, using the Microsoft-recommended AppZero for "up-level" OS migration — or provision them to any cloud instantly. The AppZero Jumpstart Migration Offer, available through AppZero Silver, Gold and Premier Partners, will run from July 14, 2014 to Oct. 14, 2014. It provides five server licenses for $1,500 with the ability to migrate an unlimited number of applications on those servers.
AppZero software encapsulates complex server applications into virtual application appliances (containers) completely independent of their operating systems so they can be deployed at the click of a mouse to any machine or cloud. Enterprises can migrate their applications to a newer operating system or provision them to the cloud — or across different clouds — instantly. AppZero partners with systems integrators, service providers and resellers to support enterprise application migrations to and across data centers and clouds.
"We've been working with AppZero over the past year to move applications from old machines running legacy versions of the Windows Server OS to servers running newer operating systems both on premise and in the cloud. The Jumpstart Migration is a great way for companies that have been postponing moving enterprise applications to do so now in the most cost and technically effective way possible with AppZero," according to Rory McCaw, CEO of Infront Consulting Group, a global Systems Integrator and multi-year winner of Microsoft’s Partner of the Year award.
Industry analysts estimated that more than 10 million machines are still running Windows Server 2003, causing security risks and major challenges for those companies that must remain in compliance with industry and regulatory policies. Microsoft has stated there will be no post-end of service patches for Windows Server 2003.
With AppZero's "up level" app migration, server applications can be moved to newer environments and the cloud in much less time than it would take to install them, leaving the old systems and their security risks behind. AppZero can easily move old 32-bit apps to 64-bit OS such as Windows Server 2012 without the need to first upgrade to Windows Server 2008.
"AppZero customers are typically experiencing an average 8+ month cycle for server migration programs for several hundred servers, even longer depending on the number of servers," said AppZero CEO Greg O’Connor. "With a trusted partner like Infront Consulting Group and AppZero software for up-level migration, companies can quickly confirm their readiness, prepare and execute a migration plan and rapidly move to a newer server environment or the cloud, putting the worries of an end of support cycle behind them."
