Ticket Down is a reputable source for Netherlands vs. Argentina World Cup Semifinals tickets on Wednesday, July 9th. There are only four more games remaining in the 2014 World Cup. On Tuesday, the host country of Brazil will take on Germany in the first semifinal match and will await the winner of Wednesday’s game between Argentina and Netherlands. This game will be held on July 9 from the Arena de Sao Paulo in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and will feature two teams most predicted would be taking part in this game. For fans in attendance in Sao Paulo, this game will be an intriguing one that will be filled with exciting moments and - if it is anything like the rest of the tournament - plenty of goals. Both team will be playing their best football as they hope to advance to the championship game instead of the third place matchup which unfortunately awaits the loser.
The Argentinean squad has not played their best game of football as of yet in this World Cup, but have found a way to win when they needed a goal the most. The world’s best player, Lionel Messi, hasn’t played like his nickname suggests, but he has been the man to get Argentina a ball in the back of the net when they were desperate for a score. Argentina swept through their group stage with wins against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nigeria and Iran, but all games were decided by a lone goal. In their first elimination game, they need overtime to get past Switzerland, 1-0, and then defeated Belgium by the same score to reach the semifinal.
In a much tougher group, Netherlands also went 3-0, but ended up with a +7 differential, including a four-goal win against the defending World Cup champion Spain, and a two-goal win against the surprising team from Chile. As soon as they got to the elimination games, things got a bit trickier for the Dutch, barely pulling out a win against the Mexican squad and then needing penalty kicks to get passed the upstart squad from Costa Rica.
Despite their struggles in the past two games, the Dutch team has some of the best players in the world on their roster including Robin van Persie and Arjen Robben, both of whom have scored three goals already this tournament. Wesley Sneijder is another player that could have a massive effect on their success in this game. The German side has their fair share of talent to go around as well, including Thomas Müller, who has four goals, and Mats Hummels, who has scored twice.
The Arena de Sao Paulo is also known as Arena Corinthians, which opened in May of this year. The venue was constructed for use in the World Cup this year, and is also the home of Corinthians, a Brazilian league club. When Argentina and Netherlands meet, it will be the sixth game held here during the World Cup. It hosted a Netherlands 2-0 victory against Chile and most recently hosted the Argentina victory against Switzerland in the Round of 16.
