Mr. Cox is an experienced appellate attorney with an extensive background in state and federal appellate representation. He will handle appeals and substantive legal briefing for the firm’s clients, as well as pre-trial consultation and strategy in high stakes cases.
Mr. Cox has provided legal briefing support and appellate representation in over twenty different jurisdictions across the country, including Texas, California, Pennsylvania, Florida, Louisiana, Illinois, Minnesota, and Massachusetts, and is available to assist with such matters before all levels of state and federal courts. He has provided research and consultation as to anti-spoliation efforts, venue, causes of action, and certification issues for class action cases. He has been involved in products liability, personal injury, defamation, commercial litigation, medical malpractice, and premises liability cases, among others. He has handled cases before the Texas Supreme Court and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

A graduate of the University of Houston Law Center in 2001, he also holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. For four years, in addition to his law practice, he taught an advanced appellate advocacy course at the University of Houston Law Center as an adjunct professor of law. He is also a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas.
Mr. Cox is the co-author of "Transitioning from Trial to Appeal and Post Trial Motions," for the Federal Court Practice, State Bar of Texas, 2004 and 2006. He also co-authored "Emerging Issues in Insurance Law," for the Advanced Civil Appellate Practice Course, State Bar of Texas, 2004 and "Analysis of a Successful Petition for Review," for the Advanced Civil Appellate Practice Course, State Bar of Texas, 2004. He contributed to the Advanced Civil Discovery course at the University of Houston Law Center in 2003 with the co-authored article "Strategic and Ethical Considerations in Pursuing and Responding to a Mandamus of Discovery Rulings."
He is a member of the Order of the Barristers, a national honorary organization recognizing individuals who excel in oral advocacy and brief writing skills, and has practiced in appellate law for over twelve years. He is actively involved in the legal community and maintains membership in the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association of Justice and the Dallas Bar Association.
