Many companies recognize the benefits that IT asset management delivers, but are overwhelmed at the investment in time and resources they think they need to get there.

Provance® today announced the immediate availability of Provance IT Asset Management for Microsoft® System Center, a new low-cost software product to simplify and streamline the implementation of IT asset management at Microsoft-centric IT organizations. First to adopt Provance IT Asset Management for Microsoft System Center are the Microsoft Technology Centers (MTCs).
“We are excited to work with Provance to demonstrate the benefits of IT Asset Management with Microsoft System Center,” said Martin Buckley, CTO Microsoft Technology Centers. “Provance is a strong Microsoft partner and we look forward to using Provance for our global MTC Asset Management needs and showcasing our solutions around the globe.”
IT asset management software uses cost, contract and organizational information to effectively manage hardware and software across the entire life cycle, from the time they are requested through their disposal and all stages in between. Visibility and control of IT assets across the life cycle delivers significant benefits through control of IT costs, improved efficiencies and reduction of compliance and security risk.
A provider of IT asset management software since 1997, Provance recognized the need for an affordable new product that allowed companies to tactically implement IT asset management to satisfy specific needs at the lowest possible cost.
“It’s become clear that the adoption of IT asset management is often hampered by cost and complexity,” said Gord Watts, Provance Vice President, Product Development. “Many companies recognize the benefits that IT asset management delivers, but are overwhelmed at the investment in time and resources they think they need to get there. For a very low investment, Provance IT Asset Management for Microsoft System Center lets you zero in on areas of low hanging fruit that quickly generate a big return.”
The new Provance IT Asset Management for Microsoft System Center product is provided under a simple, straightforward license. One low purchase price based on four different company sizes acquires an organization-wide, perpetual use license for any number and type of assets. A company with 1,000 employees can purchase Provance IT Asset Management for Microsoft System Center for $10,000. Annual support and maintenance is available at 20%.
Like the existing Provance IT Asset Management Pack, which was introduced simultaneously with the introduction of Microsoft System Center – Service Manager in 2010, the new Provance IT Asset Management product is a process management pack that runs natively within Service Manager to provide IT asset management capabilities directly in the System Center platform. Provance IT Asset Management for Microsoft System Center offers a new option for organizations who seek a solution to meet a specific need or must work with a limited budget.
Provance has also announced another forthcoming offering, Enterprise IT Asset Management for Microsoft System Center. Expected later in 2014, this new product will deliver the most complete and robust IT asset management experience for Microsoft System Center. Organizations implementing Provance IT Asset Management for Microsoft System Center will be able to simply upgrade to the Enterprise edition as their requirements grow and mature. Existing Provance IT Asset Management Pack customers will receive a license upgrade to the new Enterprise IT Asset Management product.
