Attorney Jocelyn Cortez Selected for 2014 Nevada Rising Stars℠ List
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) July 08, 2014 -- De Castroverde Law Group is proud to announce that Jocelyn Cortez, one of its dedicated Las Vegas attorneys, has been selected for inclusion in the Nevada Super Lawyers® Rising Stars℠ list for the year of 2014. According to the Super Lawyers® website, only up to 2.5% of lawyers in each state are honored with inclusion in Rising Stars℠. The list recognizes exceptional Nevada lawyers who are 40 years of age or younger, or who have no more than 10 years of experience practicing law. More information about Ms. Cortez’s selection for the list can be found on her attorney profile on the Super Lawyers® website.
Lawyers are required to have a high level of peer recognition before they can be chosen for the Rising Stars℠ list, because the selection process includes both peer nominations and peer evaluations. According to the Super Lawyers® website, the research department of Super Lawyers® Magazine also performs independent research, evaluating each candidate’s level of professional accomplishment and reputation among his or her peers. The research team does this by evaluating the candidates in twelve key areas. The lawyers with the highest ratings from the independent research and peer review stages are selected for the prestigious Rising Stars℠ listing. Except for the age and experience criteria, the Rising Stars℠ list uses the same selection process as the Super Lawyers® list.
Attorney Cortez practices immigration law at De Castroverde Law Group. As a lawyer who personally comes from a family of immigrants, Ms. Cortez is truly able to understand the needs of her clients. Ms. Cortez’ family left El Salvador and immigrated to the U.S. when she was five months old. Attorney Cortez is a native Spanish speaker, so she is able to provide many clients with the convenience of legal counsel in their own language.
In addition to being chosen for the 2014 Nevada Rising Stars℠ list, Attorney Cortez has been recognized in other ways. She was featured in Attorney at Law Magazine’s 2013 Women in Law edition, and has also earned a 9.0 Superb rating from Avvo. In 2012, Attorney Cortez served as President of the Las Vegas Latino Bar Association. She is currently a member of a number of notable professional organizations, and has been interviewed by both English and Spanish media on topics related to immigration law.
