New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department Selects Accela Civic Platform to Streamline Permitting Process

Upgrade Provides State with One-Stop Shop for Permitting, Citizen Access, Mobile Solutions, Electronic Document Review and GIS Enhancements

The Accela Civic Platform will give the Regulation and Licensing Department the ability to offer an online portal for permitting, offering enhanced communication with citizens, increased transparency and streamlined workflow for agency staff. The agreement includes software licensing, professional services, training and support.

The Accela Civic Platform will help the State mange building permit activities from initiation to close and will provide staff with the exact information and workflow needed to perform their daily job function while handling all types of regulatory activities, from one-time processes like residential construction permitting to annual renewable activities like elevator certificates. By leveraging mobile solutions, inspectors will be able to access information and make updates online in real-time, from the convenience of their mobile device, regardless of location across the State.

Today, agencies of all sizes are leveraging the Civic Platform to manage civic functions for Land and Asset Management, Licensing, Legislative Management, Recreation and Resource Management and Public Health and Safety.

Now they can search for information, apply for permits or track statuses whenever it’s convenient for them.”

Specifically, the State of New Mexico will leverage:

Citizen Access: A cost-effective way to move traditional counter and call center services to the web, providing citizens with easy and convenient online access to the State’s permitting, building and planning information and activities.

Mobile Office: Designed specifically for field use and leveraging the latest in mapping technology, Accela Mobile Office helps agency staff create and administer inspections and investigations from the field. Department field workers will be supported by Accela GIS, which integrates Esri ArcGIS maps with the Accela Civic Platform.

Electronic Document Review: Offers a comprehensive enterprise project review and management system for regulatory documents, such as plans, architectural drawings, and licenses, in support of plan applications and renewals. Electronic Document Review enables staff to replace paper document examination with the ability to automate, organize and track reviews online.

Accela GIS: Provides a robust solution utilizing geospatial data to improve decision-making and help streamline processes. Accela GIS provides a geographic view of all land-use, zoning, and infrastructure information associated with parcels, permits, code cases and inspections.
