Bright Horizons' Cramond nursery receives prestigious membership for second year in a row
(PRWEB UK) 9 July 2014 -- Bright Horizons Cramond nursery, which is located on Whitehouse Road in Cramond, Edinburgh, has received the Investing in Children Membership for a second consecutive year.
The Investing in Children membership award recognises and celebrates examples of imaginative practice with children and young people. The nursery was assessed by inspector Liz McArthur towards the end of the May, with the report stating that, “The nursery although busy had a calm and organised feeling. Children were going from place to place with ease and confidence.” The report continues to praise a variety of the nursery’s practices, including the involvement of the children in the interview process for new staff members. During this process the Nursery Management Team invite children to ask the interviewee questions and then seek their feedback. Throughout the report it was clear that the inspector was impressed with the independence offered to the children, which included the option for the children to pick their own healthy breakfast and to choose materials for messy play activities.
Martina Murphy, Operations Director for Bright Horizons Scotland & Ireland, said:
“We are delighted that our Cramond nursery has been recognised by Investing in Children for a second successive year. The award highlights the fantastic work that’s carried out by Head of the Centre Karin and her dedicated team.”
Karin Duguid, Head of Centre at Bright Horizons Cramond, said:
“We are really pleased to maintain our Investing in Children Membership for a second consecutive year.
