Miller-Valentine Group Wins Two ABC Awards of Excellence: Heidelberg Distributing Company & Huhtamaki North America
Dayton, Ohio (PRWEB) July 09, 2014 -- The Heidelberg Distributing project was the renovation and repurposing of the former Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. warehouse in Moraine, and brought life back to the 779,000 SF facility that had been vacant for nearly five years.
Huhtamaki North America, a leading manufacturer of consumer goods packaging, as well as tableware (Chinet®), cups, folding cartons, containers, carriers, trays and service ware for the foodservice industry and retail markets, selected Miller-Valentine Commercial Construction as its design-build construction partner to renovate approximately 942,000 square feet of the old Ford Motor Company transmission plant in Batavia, Ohio.
“We are honored to win these awards from ABC, but the true reward comes from being able to assist our clients in the repurposing of vacant buildings,” said Chris Knueven, Partner, President, Miller-Valentine Construction. "Both these projects were perfectly suited for our expertise in this type of construction, and allowed us to work with our customer to find the best solution to help grow their business."
Miller-Valentine has a successful history of transforming vacant, abandoned buildings into functional facilities such as clinics, apartments, offices and manufacturing facilities. Some notable Dayton projects include: Grand Place Apartments, Victor J Cassano Sr Medical Center, and Cox Ohio Publishing.
ABC also awarded Miller-Valentine Commercial Construction as follows:
• Award of Merit for the University of Dayton Roesch Library Façade renovation
• The Safety Training Evaluation and Process DIAMOND AWARD—the industry’s highest recognition for achievement and excellence in construction. This is the third year in a row the commercial construction team has earned this award.
“Safety is a top priority at Miller-Valentine, and our on-going investment of time and resources to achieve our safety goals is evident by our superior safety record: 1207 days or 552,679 hours without a recordable injury.”
