God bless America, and God bless the men and women who have served, and those who continue to serve our country.
Middletown, OH (PRWEB) July 09, 2014
The 4-day Warrior Weekend to Remember is being held in conjunction with this year’s Ohio Challenge Hot Air Balloon Festival, and actually starts prior to the festival on Thursday, July 10th at 6:00am with Hot Air Balloon rides for the eighteen warriors and a golf outing at Weatherwax starting at noon. The Warrior Weekend to Remember is an exciting combination of activities meant to enrich the lives of our active duty and veteran men and women injured in combat or training. Eighteen wounded warriors will participate in activities such as tandem skydives, a USPSA multi-gun competition, air-craft rides, nighttime bow fishing, balloon rides, all while raising money and awareness for the Halo for Freedom Warrior Foundation. There is also a 5k Run/Walk at Smith Park Saturday and you can register at the park beginning at 7:00am.
According to their website, HALO for Freedom Warrior Foundation was started to show that physically challenged people can still work and excel in today's society and military. The foundation emphasizes that "amputee" and "useless" are not synonymous. The organization provides support for wounded warriors as they face the many challenges they encounter during the rehabilitation, reintegration, and healing process.
James Boeddeker, President of Selection.com®, said, “The Middletown Balloon Festival (Ohio Challenge) has been a great family friendly event since its start in 2003.” James added, “This year’s addition of the Warrior Weekend To Remember makes this event even more memorable. To be a part of an event so special, that will put a smile on the faces of so many of our wounded active duty and veteran armed forces members, is a great honor. God bless America, and God bless the men and women who have served, and those who continue to serve our country.”
The Ohio Challenge Hot Air Balloon Festival runs Friday and Saturday from 4 to 10:30 pm and will include skydiving demos by Team Fastrax, fireworks courtesy of Start Skydiving, a laser light show, evening balloon glows, live entertainment, a carnival, car show, and food and craft vendors.
