CK-12 New K-12 Math & Science Practice App Helps Students Raise Their Grades
Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) July 14, 2014 -- The CK-12 Foundation is excited to announce the launch of a revolutionary new Android application that will benefit middle and high school students the world over. CK-12 Practice places high-quality STEM education tools in the hands of students across the world at absolutely no cost to them or their school, giving all learners the necessary tools to expand their minds and learn the lessons that will ensure them a bright and prosperous future.
Students of all backgrounds often need extra help in their quest for quality education, better grades, and vital math and science lessons that can help them in the path to their careers. CK-12 Practice provides them just that; an application filled with thousands of quizzes crafted by some of the best educators in the world that is accessible for free on any Android or Google product, including Chromebooks, tablets, and smartphones. That means students can sharpen their math and science skills on the go, supplementing the valuable lessons they’re gaining in the classroom. It truly levels the educational playing field and takes to heart the concept of no child left behind.
“At the CK-12 Foundation, we believe that for students to succeed in today’s society it is very important to ensure that they understand concepts related to math & science and to have access to educational materials that can supplement their in-school learning,” says Neeru Khosla, founder of the CK-12 Foundation and noted philanthropist championing education for the world’s children. “Providing this to students & teachers globally on the Android platform helps us achieve our vision of meeting students where they are and providing a high quality education anywhere, anytime and on any device.”
With the release of their newest app they are one step closer to changing the lives of many. CK-12 Practice allows for independent study or can easily be introduced into the classroom. Teachers and students can use the app to practice thousands of questions to hone their STEM knowledge. The app offers several modes that can push a student to the next level of their comprehension, including “practice mode” that gives them an unlimited time to quiz themselves on a subject when they are still grasping its concepts, and “challenge mode,” which sets a timer on a quiz in order to cement their newfound lessons into memory.
CK-12 Practice is currently available in the Google Play store. For more detailed information about the new application, a webinar offering step-by-step lessons on using CK-12 Practice, or info on the CK-12 Foundation, contact info(at)ck12(dot)org or call 650-494-1302.
