Directed by acclaimed actor and filmmaker James Franco, and based on the chilling novel by Cormac McCarthy, “Child Of God” tells the provocative story of Lester Ballard (Scott Haze), a dispossessed and violent man, attempting to exist outside the social order. Deprived first of his family and then his home, Ballard descends literally and figuratively to the level of a cave dweller, falling deeper into a disturbing life of crime and degradation. Set in the 1960’s, in a small town nestled in the Appalachian foothills, “Child Of God” is structured in three segments, with each new chapter chronicling Ballard’s ever-growing isolation from society, and from the social mores that separate society from chaos.
