MENOMONEE FALLS, WI (PRWEB) July 10, 2014

Silverado Oak Village, a memory care community in Menomonee Falls, celebrated its official grand opening on Wednesday, July 9. The opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting event that included speakers from the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association, community tours, live entertainment, gourmet food and refreshments. Silverado last year acquired the community, and over the past year has transformed it to meet the company's unmatched service standards.

"With more than 17 years of experience in memory care, it’s a privilege for us to provide life-enriching care to the residents of Oak Village,” shares Silverado President, Chairman and CEO Loren Shook. "With every grand opening, we get the opportunity to positively impact more lives and in doing so, give peace of mind to loved ones’ families.”

Silverado communities offer world-class care through a distinctive model that combines the social benefits of a community lifestyle with the support of around-the-clock clinical care. A skilled and passionate team, that includes 24-hour licensed nurses and a dedicated medical director, leads each community. Families are often attracted to Silverado because of its attention to detail and warm environment.

When Linda Napolitano’s family could no longer care for her after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, the family visited more than 15 assisted livings. Although it was the most difficult decision their family ever had to make, they knew they needed a place where Linda was safe and happy.

“Silverado was the immediate front-runner; they were so specifically focused on Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Oak Village felt like an oversized house where everyone, Linda and us included, could feel at home,” shares Linda’s daughter. “And even after only a few weeks of being at Silverado, Linda has lit up. We see her old personality coming through, she's consistently happy and always smiling, and we feel like she's part of their and our family. Each day we visit, we leave with a sigh of relief rather than guilt that we've found a home for Linda and a partner for our family.”

Silverado Oak Village features unique elements designed to benefit memory-impaired residents – from memory boxes that families fill with keepsakes to help residents independently find their room, to expansive and secure outside spaces, music programs, cooking clubs, gardening, art and other engagements that help those with memory loss experience success again.

The community – which features different “neighborhoods” that address residents’ specific needs – provides specialized care for up to 50 residents and operates as a Silverado community under the leadership of Cindy Reed. The community is located at W128 N6900 Northfield Drive, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051. Learn more at silveradocare.com/oakvillage.
