I’ve been fortunate to have many mentors... and I look forward to meeting the teams and pushing them to uncover their full potential.
Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) July 15, 2014
Sam Meers, president and CEO of Meers Advertising, a full-service advertising agency located in Kansas City, was recently named a mentor for the Iowa Startup Accelerator.
As a sales and marketing and health technologies mentor for the organization, Meers will mentor and advise teams in a 90-day program to launch their tech-based startup. Ten teams are given $20,000 and up to $100,000 in potential investment, along with access to more than 100 mentors and leaders in their industries, like Meers. This is the program’s first year.
“Since starting my own agency over 20 years ago, I’ve been fortunate to have many mentors in my life that have helped shape the way I do business today,” said Meers. “I’m thrilled to be a mentor for the Iowa Startup Accelerator, and look forward to meeting the teams and pushing them to uncover their full potential.”
Passionate about nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit locally, Meers also serves as a Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program (HEMP) Fellow and SparkLabKC mentor.
About Meers Advertising
This business is not about us. It’s about you. Your product. Your company. Your brand. You live it every day. You love it. Or, at least you should. There are two types of clients in the world. Those who are passionate about what they do and those who just show up. We don’t really care much for the latter. Finding mutual success between client and agency requires teamwork. Aligning on the focused goal. As our client, you have to demonstrate passion. Every day. We’re constantly pushing ourselves. Raising the bar. If you want the best ideas from us, show us you love something. http://www.Meers.com
About Iowa Startup Accelerator
Iowa Startup Accelerator is Iowa’s first 90-day accelerator program for pre- and early-revenue startups. While the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Corridor currently has significant resources available to entrepreneurs, most are aimed at companies that have already proven themselves viable. This accelerator, which formed in 2013, attracts and cultivates early stage startups, helping to turn concepts into businesses ready for funding and scale.
