SAE International Symposium to Delve into Global Strategies for Automotive Emissions Controls
Detroit (PRWEB) July 10, 2014 -- The “SAE International 2014 Light Duty Emissions Control Symposium” will be held this December 9-10, due to the recent announcement of the EPA Tier 3 regulations that will take effect in 2017. The event, which will be located in Troy, Michigan, USA, will serve as a platform for industry leaders who are seeking to establish global strategies for emissions control and compliance with Tier 3 regulations and their resulting effects.
In addition, this year’s “Light Duty Emissions Symposium” will highlight industry’s reaction to EPA Tier 3 regulations, which have the purpose of reducing motor vehicle emissions. The new standards will help lower both tailpipe and evaporative emissions for automotive vehicles of all sizes. The symposium will examine the effects that these new regulations will have on light duty vehicles; and more specifically, the emissions improvements, along with the engineering challenges that will result from the program’s mandatory introduction in 2017.
This year’s keynote speaker, William Charmley, also plays an integral role in the event, serving as a direct connection to the EPA. Mr. Charmley, works at the EPA as the Deputy Director for the Assessment and Standards Division, and will be sharing crucial information on the details of the coming Tier 3 regulation. Mr. Charmley’s insight into the regulations process will give attendees an opportunity to be better prepared for the challenges resulting from meeting these new requirements.
The two-day event also will examine particulate matter control of both diesel and gasoline powered engines, CAFE standards, and new regulations and criteria for CO2 emissions; in addition, the symposium will include details of cutting edge technology that is pertinent to all aspects of the light duty vehicle industry.
