The team is busy preparing their celebrations to mark five successful years in business and is planning on sharing their success with colleagues in the Intellectual Property industry, as well as the wider on line community. The past five years have seen Fellows and Associates establish an international brand with a strong connection base spanning across the world. “The Intellectual Property sector is extremely close knit due to the nature of the business; professionals need to build contact overseas so that they can share their clients’ work in locations where they may not necessarily have the experience or jurisdiction.” says Pete Fellows. “We invest heavily in networking at leading industry events such as the INTA Annual Meeting and AIPPI World Intellectual Property Congress so that we can use such an integrated business network to our advantage. We have found that knowing an US based attorney has actually aided us in placing a candidate in the UK, thanks to the connection base of our US contact.”
2014 has already been a busy year for the team; in addition to attending the INTA Annual Meeting in Hong Kong they have been successful in securing extensive projects with new and established clients in the IP sector. “There has been a real uptake in retained work this year, allowing us to collaborate closely with clients in order to fulfil their recruitment needs, with dual branded advertising, the provision of in depth additional material to candidates and search becoming a regular instruction. We have also taken a more consolidated approach in incorporating service provider and corporate recruitment into our regular remit and we have already seen some tremendous results” enthuses Phillipa Field.
The celebrations in August will not see a break in Fellows and Associates’ busy schedule as the following month Pete Fellows and Phillipa Field will both be travelling to Toronto in order to attend the AIPPI World Intellectual Property Congress. The event is hosted by the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property which, by dating back to 1897, is the world’s oldest global IP association. This, along with plenty to keep them occupied back home, should see Fellows and Associates well on their way to their 6th prosperous year in the Intellectual Property sector.
