By opening up millions of privately owned plots of land, we hope to make the world more accessible. In addition to creating memorable connections between people, we want to improve man’s connection with nature, which is a core value.

Joseph Léopold, creator of Gamping, is pleased to announce that the online platform for Gamping.com (a contraction of garden and camping) is now more complete, convenient and available in several languages, including English, French, and Spanish. After the site launched in France in 2013, many travelers hoped the service would expand, specifically to Spain and the United States. Now, Gamping services are available in more languages and more locations. Please visit http://www.gamping.com (English), http://www.gamping.fr (French), or http://www.gamping.es (Spanish) today to learn how to take part in this cost effective vacationing experience.

Gamping is based on the principle of collaborative consumption. With roots in organizations such as Couchsurfing and Wwoofing, Gamping allows visitors to camp at private locations at a low cost. Founder and CEO of Gamping, Joseph Léopold, originally conceived of this idea to provide an alternative to traditional campsites and wilderness camping. This modern vacationing experience connects campers with people from around the world who are willing to offer their yards and other facilities in exchange for a few euros and good company. For between five and seven euros per night per person, campers can enjoy the comfort of an enclosed, private space, and additional amenities including pool access, a barbecue, a tennis court, a kitchen area, indoor bathrooms and more.

Joseph thought of the idea for Gamping one afternoon when he returned from a trip to Italy and found himself stranded without his keys. Without a way into the house, he decided to camp in his garden for the night. He was so charmed by the experience that he built a platform from which to share this experience with the world.

Joseph Léopold comments, “By opening up millions of privately owned plots of land, we hope to make the world more accessible. In addition to creating memorable connections between people, we want to improve man’s connection with nature, which is a core value.”

Joseph successfully launched gamping.com in 2013 to provide the world with a new vacation hosting paradigm. Now, more than 1,000 people "Gamp" during the summer, and gamping.com has over 450 approved hosts.
