The man, named George Chittock, claims that the singer attacked him after a “meet and greet” at Chicago’s in Chelmsford, Essex. Dappy, 27, whose real name is Dino Costas Contostavlos, is set to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court. He denied the accusations. Dappy and Mr Chittlock were located in a smoking area, along with a minder and two of the club’s doormen when the attack took place, according to the prosecutor Jaqueline Carey. The singer, who was arrested by the police some time later, claims that he was only defending himself.
Ms Carey said: "When the defendant lashed out, he was not under any threat or any perceived threat of violence. She also went on to add that Mr Contostavlos said that Mr Chittock had been abusive towards him, and this is only just one of the altercations.
