Assistant Coach for The Los Angeles Clippers Michael Woodson Will Host The Coach Woodson Las Vegas Invitational to Benefit Nations of Coaches
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) July 11, 2014 -- Newly appointed Assistant Coach to the Los Angeles Clippers Michael Woodson of The Coach Woodson Las Vegas Invitational, the inaugural luxury golf, fashion and lifestyle experience at Southern Highlands Golf Club with hospitality provided by Nevada’s only triple Forbes Five Star resort, Mandarin Oriental of Las Vegas, is exhilarated to announce partnerships with prominent luxe brands and is proud to reveal that a portion of the proceeds generated from the event will benefit the national nonprofit organization, Nations of Coaches.
“Today, more than 70% of college men’s basketball players come from a one- or no-parent home,” stated Tommy Kyle, Nations of Coaches Executive Director. “We need more coaches like Mike Woodson, who is not only a great coach but an outstanding father figure.”
Nations of Coaches was founded in 2005 by long-time basketball coach, Jim Haney, who also serves as Executive Director of the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Haney dreamed of launching a support system dedicated to college basketball coaches to help them deal with the everyday pressure to produce and win. The Coach Woodson Las Vegas Invitational has teamed up with Cox Communications, Land Rover of Las Vegas, Sprite, Perrier, Hope & Grace Wines, Careerbuilder.com, The Upper Deck Company and The Macallan, alongside CIROC, Sean Jean and VYBX.

The three-day event will commence with a Sunday wine tasting and a private dinner. Monday will follow with the CIROC Celebrity Welcome Party at the alluring 23rd floor Mandarin Bar, with a live performance by vocal sensation Brian McKnight. The evening’s co-hosts, professional golfer and fashionista Seema Sadekar and ESPN’s Jay Harris, will introduce celebrity guests and announce golf tournament pairings. On Tuesday, participants will play 18 holes at the exquisite Southern Highlands Golf Club.
