Williamsburg, VA (PRWEB) July 13, 2014
Revolutionary war buffs and those who treasure antique firearms can enjoy a display of 17th and 18th century-style military weapons throughout August in Virginia’s Historic Triangle as the Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center host Arms & Artillery Month, August 1 - 31, 2014.
Visitors to Jamestown Settlement’s re-created Powhatan Village can take part in daily programs on Powhatan leadership and warfare. They have the opportunity to learn techniques to fletch arrows, flint knap arrow points and see examples of Powhatan weapons from bows to war clubs. At the Yorktown Victory Center’s Continental Army encampment, visitors can participate in daily wooden-musket drills, observe Revolutionary War uniforms and more.
Arms & Artillery interpretive programs are included with admission to both the Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center.
While in the area, families can enjoy accommodations at the all-new DoubleTree by Hilton Williamsburg with its “Sweet Dreams” beds, in-room refrigerator, an assortment of in-room tea and coffee selections, and body care products by Crabtree & Evelyn.
