Nitro Mobile Solutions Selected as a Finalist in the 2014 Small Business of the Year Awards
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) July 15, 2014 -- Nitro Mobile Solutions, a leading provider of mobile and mobile banking applications, has been selected as a finalist in the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 Small Business of the Year Awards.
The award is presented to the company that best represents Tampa’s small business community. Businesses must be nominated to enter the competition. Other qualifications include being headquartered in the Tampa Bay area, being a for-profit organization, having 5-250 employees, and having conducted business for at least three complete years.

Before making it as a finalist, competing companies had to first get through two phases of the competition. The first phase of the competition involved completing a detailed application, which highlighted the company’s history, adversities, management team, and other questions based upon the Chamber’s five judging criteria. The criteria are as follows:
• History and philosophy (ethical business practices)
• Management (business goals, planning)
• Operational management (personnel, profitability, administrative processes)
• Innovativeness and response to adversity/economic conditions/competition
• Leadership and community contributions
The second phase of the competition involved a 20-minute interview held at the Chamber of Commerce on June 20. During the interview, competitors had 10 minutes to address each of the five judging criteria and 10 minutes to answer judges’ questions. The final phase of the competition will take place on August 27, during which time the SBOYA judges will visit each finalist’s office for a one-hour onsite interview.
The winning company will be revealed at the awards ceremony, which takes place September 19 at the Straz Center for Performing Arts. This year’s theme is “The Amazing Race.”
