Scan It Or Say It With hiku, Then Pick It Up at chronodrive
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) July 14, 2014 -- hiku, creator of the original ‘scan it or say it’ device to simplify shopping, and chronodrive, a leading French drive-thru supermarket, announced that starting today, select chronodrive shoppers can use hiku to scan or speak items directly to chronodrive for easy ordering. This is the first solution in the world that combines helpful technology in the kitchen with the convenience of drive-thru pickup, and bridges the online and offline shopping world.
Launched in October, 2013, hiku attaches via a magnet to a customer’s refrigerator, and scans barcodes and records voice at the push of a single button. Anything the customer scans or says is added to a shopping list application on their mobile phone and sent directly to chronodrive for seamless ordering. From the chronodrive mobile app or website, the customer reviews their order anytime and picks it up in 30 minutes from most stores. Groceries are conveniently loaded in the customer’s trunk within five minutes of arriving at the store, and pick-up is available from 70+ chronodrive locations throughout France.
"chronodrive is a worldwide leader in adopting modern technologies to simplify shopping,” said hiku CEO, Rob Katcher. “The company pioneered the popular drive-thru shopping concept in France and this solution will be a massive time-savings to their customers.”
hiku at chronodrive will save users time and headaches by intelligently marrying online and offline shopping into a single, unified experience. With hiku at chronodrive, customers will be able to order bananas, for example, with the push of a button on their hiku device right from their kitchen. hiku then adds bananas to their chronodrive basket online, so when they drive to the nearest chronodrive store to pick up the groceries, bananas are ready and waiting.
With an open API, hiku easily connects with a retailer’s eCommerce shop. It is a proven, ready-to-go, connected kitchen solution that consumers love.
“We’re ecstatic to bring this smart technology to our customers to make their shopping experience absolutely frictionless,” said chronodrive CIO, Denis Delebarre. “Built in the heart of Silicon Valley by a team of expert technology entrepreneurs, hiku at chronodrive brings simplicity and convenience to today’s shoppers.”
