ProPatterns Travels to ICAST This Week to Promote ProPatterns Exposed
Yankton, South Dakota (PRWEB) July 14, 2014 -- Now in its 57th year, ICAST remains the premier showcase for the latest innovations in fishing gear, accessories and apparel. Considered the cornerstone of the sportfishing industry, ICAST helps to drive recreational fishing product sales year round for its participants. For the second year, ICAST and the International Fly Tackle Dealer show (IFTD), the fly tackle-specific show produced by the American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA), will occur in conjunction at the Orange County Convention Center from July 15-18th. As industry professionals from across the globe converge on Orlando for ICAST and the IFTD, ProPatterns will be on hand to promote the online educational video series Exposed and the ProPatterns brand, while networking with industry peers and fostering strategic business relationships.
As Exposed has expanded its lineup of top Elite anglers over the course of three seasons, the series has gained traction and a following among industry insiders. The concept behind the series involves top professional anglers, a who’s-who list tournament and Classic champions included in the lineup, spending a day with a film crew as they study waters on the practice days leading up to competition tourneys on the Elite trail.
This year the video series also expands into new territory with the Exposed Eligible? film contest, a contest intent on engaging the fan base and offering a platform for amateurs on the cusp of breaking through to the professional ranks. Unlike most film contests, the Exposed Eligible? film contest is a no-entry-fee video competition that challenges fans to submit short fishing videos meant to educate and entertain. As the title of the contest suggest, entrants have the opportunity to gain exposure that many pros struggle for years trying to attain.
Contestants vie for a chance to win a grand prize fishing-and-filming package with pro angler Tim Horton of Timmy Horton Outdoors. As the industry continues to embrace the social-media phenomena, the Exposed Eligible? contest follows form. The first round of voting to determine the top ten film entries affords competitors the chance to accumulate fan “likes” for their videos on the Exposed Eligible? Facebook page. The video contest, underway now, continues through August, and also boasts hundreds of dollars in prizes for the top ten finalists.
While winners are ultimately determined by the quality of their content and the creativity demonstrated in producing educational and entertaining film, competitors savvy to social media have entered the contest early to promote their submissions and build their fan base in an attempt to make the top ten cut. Once top ten finalists are chosen by popular vote, videos will be judged by a panel of Exposed pros.
