Manchester United, led by Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Javier Hernandez, Rafael, and Phil Jones, was originally founded in 1878 and plays their football in the English Premier League. The team has had a rich and storied history that includes 20 League titles, 11 FA Cups, 20 FA Community Shields, plus the European Cup and UEFA Champions League. Another rich part of their history came in the 1998-99 season when they completed the continental treble with wins in the English Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.
AS Roma competes in the Italian football league, Serie A. The team has won three Serie A cups, including their most recent title in the 2000-01 season. The team was originally founded in 1927 and is based out of Rome, Italy. AS Roma is a team filled with many talented players that novice football fans may now be familiar with after watching them compete at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Among those players include Maicon, Francesco Totti, and Miralem Pjanić.
Sports Authority Field at Mile High was originally opened in 2001. The venue has been home of the Denver Broncos from the National Football League ever since. The 76,125 capacity stadium has been used primarily for football, but has also hosted numerous other events including international soccer matches. When Manchester United and AS Roma compete here on July 26th, it will be another incredible sporting event for fans in Denver to enjoy.
