Northern Electric, Inc., a national electrical and instrumentation contractor, based out of Westminster, CO, continues its strength in safety by winning the coveted Associated Builders and Contractors National Merit Safety Award for 2013.

Northern Electric, Inc. is proud to announce today that it has received a national safety award from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), a national trade organization with 70 chapters representing more than 22,000 members. The Company has been awarded the prestigious National Safety Merit Award. Northern Electric representatives were on hand to receive the award during the 24th annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebration at the Grand Wailea in Maui, Hawaii.

Northern Electric spokesman Gino Malara, Vice President of Business Development, Oil and Gas division, says, “We are proud to receive this award, as it shows that in addition to our pursuit of excellence we not only meet, but exceed safety regulations and requirements as mandated by national organizations like ABC.” ABC National Chairman Dan Brodbeck congratulates the Northern Group for winning the award “and for maintaining dedication to achieving world-class safety on the construction jobsite.”

The 2013 National Safety Excellence Award winners were selected from ABC member firms that achieved Diamond, Platinum and Gold status in ABC's Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP). During the selection process, national safety winners were judged on self-evaluation scores, lost workday case rates, total recordable rates, leading indicator use, process and program innovations and video interviews conducted by members of ABC’s National Environment, Health & Safety Committee.
