Excellims IA3100 High Performance Ion Mobility Spectrometer Wins R&D 100 Award
Acton, MA (PRWEB) July 15, 2014 -- Excellims Corporation announced today that its IA3100 High-Performance Ion Mobility Spectrometer has won a prestigious R&D 100 award for the most innovative new technologies of 2013. Addition of the IA3100 instrument to common HPLC systems brings high resolution ion mobility separation/detection capability to improve analytical testing across a range of applications from food and beverages to pharmaceuticals. The two dimensional (2D) HPLC-HPIMS separation can significantly improve productivity, by reducing HPLC run time, minimizing HPLC method development time, and offering an outstanding solution for otherwise difficult isomer separations.
The R&D 100 Awards recognize excellence across a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, optics, high-energy physics, materials science, chemistry and biotechnology. Some winners are established Fortune 500 companies and others are federally funded research institutions, academic and government labs. A full list of this year’s winners is available at http://www.rdmag.com. Excellims Corporation is among Agilent Technologies, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and Thermo Fisher Scientific to receive one of the nine R&D 100 Awards in Analytical Instrumentation.
Ching Wu, President and CEO of Excellims commented, “This award is a testament to Excellims’ commitment to innovation and excellence since its inception and it demonstrates the capabilities of our outstanding science and engineering team”. Mark Osgood, VP of Engineering added, "I am privileged to work with a group of superb engineers and scientists who have many years of experience in the analytical industry. We are building world-class instruments based on an array of novel patented approaches in the IMS field.”
Besides the IA3100, Excellims offers a series of high performance ion mobility spectrometry products, including: GA2100, a standalone HPIMS for rapid on-site chemical analysis; RA4100, an integrated HPIMS quadrupole MS system; and the newly introduced MA3100, a high performance ion mobility pre-filter that is easily added on to existing MS systems.
Excellims Corporation, Acton, Massachusetts, USA, is a world leader for high performance ion mobility spectrometry technology. Excellims was founded in 2005 by Dr. Ching Wu and Mr. Paul Eisenbraun, veterans in the ion mobility spectrometry industry. Excellims researches, develops, manufactures, and markets high performance ion mobility spectrometers (HPIMS™). Excellims products offer fast and easy solutions for chemical analysis. More importantly, combined with other analytical technologies, Excellims’ HPIMS provides a new dimension for analytical chemical separation that is otherwise not possible in routine chemical analysis today.
