Columbus, OH (PRWEB) July 15, 2014

RealWeld Systems, Inc., today announced a new release of its patented RealWeld Trainer™ system that includes major enhancements to benefit educators, manufacturers, and labor unions alike. The upgrades in this latest product release (Version 5.4) include:

  •     Overhead. The system now supports welding fillet and lap joints in the overhead position. All subscribing customers will be upgraded as this feature is a software-only change.
  •     Additional Audio Coaching. RealWeld Trainer™ comes equipped with “Allie” who provides audio coaching as if the welding instructor was hovered over the trainee’s shoulder. “Allie” now provides audio coaching for the trainee during setup and prior to welding to more accurately imprint muscle memory for proper starting stance and torch position – all without any visual distractions. All subscribing customers will be upgraded as this feature is a software-only change.
  •     Improved Solo Practice. With a cable upgrade, trainees can now practice motions while the arc is off yet ergonomically still pull the torch trigger to simulate their weld just as they would if welding live. This allows for improved solo practice.
“Our customers continue to drive our innovation and development roadmap,” said Bill Forquer, Launch CEO of RealWeld Systems, “We’re committed to our tagline “Burn to Learn™” and providing the best in welding education solutions.”

The patented RealWeld Trainer™ configures to any brand of welding power supply and is used “under the hood” with a live arc or for practice welding with the arc off. The scoring and audio coaching features improve outcomes by making learning fun, engaging, and competitive.

“We’ve launched our welding training this past year and are prominently including RealWeld in our program,” said Dr. Scott Howard, Executive Director, Ohio Strategic Training Center. “We’re configuring our RealWeld Trainers to various brands of welding power supplies using welding procedures specific to our local employers. We’re excited about the latest features RealWeld has developed.”

RealWeld Trainer™ is used by manufacturers to improve screening, hiring, and training, to assess skill certification levels, and clone the technique of master welders into documented welding procedures. Schools and training centers integrate the RealWeld Trainer™ into their programs to improve the learning process by providing immediate and engaging feedback to trainees while working solo in the welding booth. The system has been a huge boon to workforce development initiatives by producing skill-proven job-ready welders.

RealWeld will be demonstrating RealWeld Trainer this week at the 30th Annual IronWorkers Instructor Training Program and as shown under “Upcoming Events” at http://www.realweldsystems.com. Video previews of these new features are available on RealWeld’s New Features Page.
