Moore Design Group Wins Big at Prestigious Design Ovation Awards
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 15, 2014 -- One-upping themselves at the Dallas Design Ovation Awards ceremony, Moore Design Group was honored with seven of the prestigious interior design awards presented by the American Society of Interior Designers. In 2013, the nationally-acclaimed team earned six awards at the annual juried design competition that encompasses more than 30 categories.
“It is an honor to be recognized by our peers for our designs and contributions to the community,” MDG Principle Stephanie Moore-Hager said. “These awards are a testament to just how motivated and inspired this team really is. For us, design is not a job; it is a lifestyle and our passion.”
For the second year in a row, MDG took home the top two awards in the Commercial Multi-Family category, winning first place for The Vue at RidgeGate in Lone Tree, Colorado and second place for The Lancaster in Fort Worth.
A collaboration between MDG and Lang Partners, LLC., The Lancaster property features a light-filled, modern space that connects the property to its vibrant surroundings in the Arts District. Customized wall coverings and a commissioned conference table by a local artist complete the refined contemporary palette. The lobby features a unique sustainable lighting sculpture from Aqua Creations’ ‘Jewel Collection’ that adds intrigue and whimsy. The movement of the suspended kinetic mobiles creates an elegant, theatrical environment.
But it was The Vue at RidgeGate, a Martin Fein Interests, Ltd. property, that was the big winner of the night for MDG, receiving four Design Ovation Awards for its “mountain modern” design.
“The architectural interior design of The Vue is indigenous and inspiring,” Hager said. “We melded clean lines with warm tones, richly hued fabrics, sustainable woods and customized pieces to bring a level full of nature and the outdoors into a modern space.”
The demonstration kitchen at The Vue also echoes the natural, earthy tones surrounding the property. The commissioned tables won first place for Commercial Product Design. Handcrafted with solid maple slab tops and acrylic end legs, the tables appear to be floating, and custom cedar block art enhances the organic, creative ambiance of the space.
Taking first place for Commercial Fixture Design was the custom brown agate reception desk that welcomes visitors upon entering the lobby. From Caesarstone’s Masterpiece Collection, the surface of the desk was hand-made from individually cut and bound semi-precious stones that are believed to have healing powers and radiates an earthy energy.
MDG received two awards in the Residential Model/Show House category. Earning second place was The Vue’s model, which features a creative and inscribed environment that isn’t trendy or overdone. The model unit evokes a distinct energy that embodies what life in Colorado is all about.
The other Residential Model/Show House that earned MDG recognition was the one-bedroom model unit at The Encore in Plano. The Zale|Corson Group’s luxury apartment community combines urban design and upscale amenities. MDG’s model unit design received an Honorable Mention for the colorful, contemporary motif and geometric lines that give the space an easy, modern vibe.
Winning second place for Residential/Bedroom, the guest retreat in the Dallas home of Supreme Lending President Scott Everett is meticulously designed as a cozy, inviting space that welcomes visitors with a warm neutral palette and punches of cobalt.
Even with more than 23 years of experience in the ever-changing interior design industry, MDG still continues to approach each new project with an unparalleled passion for design. With such refreshing talent and consistent contributions to the design community, MDG is sure to garner accolades for many years to come.
