Getting Started with Fertility Treatment: Shady Grove Fertility Hosts Educational Seminar
Leesburg,VA (PRWEB) July 15, 2014 -- Taking the first step to learn about fertility treatment is often the most important one. Many couples are unsure where to begin, what options are available to them, and if insurance can cover treatment. These are just some of the questions that will be answered on Thursday, July 24 at Shady Grove Fertility’s Leesburg, VA office for an informational introduction to our practice and to the range of fertility treatments available.
Even with an estimated one in eight couples dealing with infertility, going through treatment is still widely considered to be a lonely experience but it does not have to be. At Shady Grove Fertility’s educational seminar, our staff led by Dr. Naveed Kahn will address these concerns and eligible attendees will receive a complimentary new patient consultation with Dr. Kahn.
“The Getting Started Seminars are a wonderful initial step in introducing who we are as a practice and how we value personal relationships with every patient. These relationships begin with information and it is our privilege to begin answering questions and providing that knowledge to help couples move towards parenthood," says Dr. Kahn.
During the seminar Dr. Kahn will review the range of fertility treatments available from the low-tech options like intrauterine insemination (IUI) to more advanced treatments like IVF and donor egg. Learning about the different treatments available is important because Shady Grove Fertility takes an individualized, stepped approach to treatment, which means that it is possible for many patients to be successful without undergoing IVF.
Dr. Kahn will also review cost and insurance options which is a topic so many patients have concerns about. For example, in the mid 90's, Shady Grove Fertility introduced the Shared Risk Refund program, the first of its kind. The idea of a refund program came from the interactions with a patient that hadn't achieved success after three failed IVF cycles and as a result was out of options. In the moment, we realized, we had not delivered on our promise and as a practice we vowed to remedy this. Shared Risk allows physicians and patients to work for the same successful result, delivering a baby.
