BigHand & Olympus Bundle Now Includes Nuance Dragon Speech Recognition Capabilities

The BigHand/Olympus partnership announced in June enables customers to use BigHand’s Voice Productivity Technology and Olympus® professional digital recorders as a bundled solution, providing enhanced efficiency and allowing them to get more done with their voice.

This partnership is now even more valuable, as BigHand is including its speech recognition capabilities within its secure hosted dictation solution as part of the bundled package. The BigHand speech recognition functionality features Nuance Communications’ Dragon NaturallySpeaking Server SDK (software developer kit), hosted in BigHand’s secure cloud infrastructure and embedded within the BigHand Professional Edition technology.

With BigHand’s speech recognition, users are able to build their own customized, individual speech profile that is specific to their voice, rather than a generic, public profile. This allows for greater accuracy and precision in voice-to-text translation for legal work. Accuracy rates actually improve with use, and the entire solution is hosted in a secure environment built specifically with the confidentiality needs of lawyers and other professionals in mind.

In addition, unlike similar systems, there is no limit to the volume of speech that can be converted to text on the BigHand system. Many alternative solutions have a time limit for speech-to-text conversion in the cloud. Dictations are typically returned as text within minutes or hours depending on the length of the dictation submitted, with a maximum of 48-hours turnaround time.
