New Travel Website, GayStAugustine.com, Showcases Nation's Oldest City and Florida's First Coast
St. Augustine, FL (PRWEB) August 26, 2014 -- LGBT locals and visitors in St. Augustine, Florida have a new resource to help them plan their stay in the nation’s oldest city: a comprehensive website that offers tips, maps, and information on places to go and things to do for members of the LGBT community.
The website was launched April 14, 2014 and is the brainchild of Emery McClune, a St. Augustine resident who says he loves his adopted city but was disappointed by LGBT resources when he initially moved to Florida’s First Coast.
“St. Augustine is an amazing city, both to live in and to visit,” says McClune. “But when I moved here, my partner and I struggled to find information on LGBT-friendly businesses and attractions. I wanted other people to be able to experience my city in a way that insiders do—so that they can make the most of their time here, whether they’re living here full-time or just visiting for a weekend.”
http://www.GayStAugustine.com offers website visitors insight into the picturesque beauty and diversity found throughout the ancient city. It is designed to be a one-stop-shop resource for LGBT locals and travelers to St. Augustine, Florida.
http://www.GayStAugustine.com features a host of information and resources for LGBT locals and travelers alike. It includes maps, detailed descriptions of key sites and points of interest, and information about places to go that are friendly to gay and lesbian locals, travelers, and visitors. In addition, http://www.GayStAugustine.com features interactive Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Google+ feeds to enable visitors to share their comments and to connect with other like-minded travelers.
“There is a lot of diversity in our city,” says McClune, “both in our history, our attractions, and our community. My hope is that http://www.GayStAugustine.com will share that diversity with both our tourists and our residents, so that everyone can enjoy the nation’s oldest city the way it should be enjoyed—with openness and a feeling of acceptance for everyone.”
