Funds Will Help Create a Fashion Home Run for Consumers Seeking Style and Major League Baseball Quality Comfort

Lawrence Hunt LLC, innovator of performance dress shirts with exquisite comfort, announced the launch of a $15,000 Kickstarter campaign to increase production in time for the 2014 holiday season. Coined “professional performance” - wear for its 100% cotton and breathable moisture-wicking blend designed after apparel worn by Major League Baseball athletes, Lawrence Hunt shirts allow wearers to stay dry and don a classic, stylish look suitable for boardrooms or afternoons at the ballpark. Shirt prices range from $98 to $120, but will be listed on Kickstarter at $75.

“Fashion trends come and go, but one style that doesn’t change much is a classic men’s dress shirt…we want to maintain the classic look, but improve how it feels by bringing advancements in performance technology to business apparel. Others have tried to do a complete 'one-eighty' on business wear, with the result being a casual dress shirt. We’re meeting the consumer halfway, retaining the classic look, and by doing so, revolutionizing professional wear,” said Jeff Schattner, CEO & Founder of Lawrence Hunt.

Schattner explained that performance fabrics have grown in popularity in recent years which are made for a wide variety of uses by sports and athletic brands including Under Armor, Reebok, Nike, Converse and many others. However, he sought to develop a similar level of comfort that these brands provide athletes, for people who work in environments requiring a classic look.

“Keeping cool in humid and hot summers has always been challenging,” said Dr. David Pinkney, a resident at Henry Ford Beaumont Hospital in Detroit, who is always on his feet and has been wearing a Lawrence Hunt performance dress shirt since earlier this summer. “There’s a feeling that although the sun may be hot and temperatures at boiling point on any given day, I know that I will stay dry and feel confident knowing I won’t be sweaty and uncomfortable because of the shirt I’m wearing.”

Schattner’s crowd funding campaign, initiated on July 9, was launched to help his company fund the production of more dress shirts for its online store after his initial stock was sold in less than a month. With the entire $15,000 funded, the company will be well stocked to anticipate upcoming orders and will begin expanding its collection and designs. To date the campaign has amassed close to 50 percent of its $15,000 goal.

“We’re very happy to find that our customers like our shirts and that even if you’re not the starting pitcher for the Tigers, you can experience the same degree of comfort with a classic, stylish look,” added Schattner.
