NSF International has invested in the R12 tablet PC to deliver a complete mobile solution to its field staff. NSF’s proprietary auditing software - iAudit combines scheduling and diary functions and is designed to be touchscreen capable, which necessitated a tablet PC that can withstand the demanding environments in which NSF operates.
In addition to durability, the R12 was chosen on the basis of many other factors. The screen size compared to the weight of the unit is vital. The IP54 rating protects against dust and liquid ingress and the battery life of 9 hours means inspectors can maximise the time on site. Built on Windows 7 to ensure staff are familiar with the application, iAudit exploits the integral camera of the R12, enabling inspectors to develop illustrated reports whilst on site. The two and four point harnesses enable the R12 to be easily carried and keep inspectors hands free for other tasks and because the unit can be sanitised, NSF can be confident it is not a vector of infection when inspecting premises.
