Maponics Introduces +Residential Boundaries™ — A New Product Designed to Expand Community Boundaries
White River Junction, VT (PRWEB) July 16, 2014 -- Maponics, a leader in geospatial data, today unveiled +Residential Boundaries™, a premium dataset that complements their Neighborhood Boundaries product. This new dataset offers over 100,000 U.S. residential boundaries, with growth plans to expand to upward of 500,000 boundaries by 2015. The boundaries in +Residential are at least 90% residential in nature and exclude commercial, industrial, and public locations, as well as traditional neighborhoods — all of which tend to exist in downtown areas.
“As home buyers are becoming more savvy, they’re demanding more and better location information for their property searches,” said Paul Gallagher, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management. “With +Residential Boundaries, the real estate industry can provide consumers more refined data about the function and character of the areas they’re searching. +Residential helps them find suburban or bedroom communities.”
Marty Frame, President of Realtors Property Resource — one of the first to license Maponics +Residential Boundaries — explained why RPR is investing in the new product: “More well-defined and well-researched data is simply better,” said Frame. “Our users are REALTORS® who are very attuned to geographic information, and they need the most and the best.”
Frame continued that +Residential improves on Maponics’ offerings for geospatial boundaries: “It's always nice when a key partner listens and provides solutions that make it easier for us to focus on doing our job for our users.”
+Residential Boundaries is fully compatible with the next generation of Maponics Neighborhood Boundaries and its 2.0 Data Structure. Recently expanded, Maponics Neighborhood Boundaries offers a more uniform data structure and four neighborhood hierarchies, making it easier for customers to filter neighborhoods based on type and application.
Gallagher emphasized that +Residential Boundaries builds out the residential layer beyond what is available in the Neighborhood Boundaries product. “Communities, or the areas where people live, work, and play, can extend beyond traditional neighborhoods,” said Gallagher. “Maponics +Residential Boundaries is our first new product to expand the fabric of the Community in this way. It's a natural progression for us to offer this companion dataset alongside Neighborhood Boundaries 2.0 as part of Maponics Communities™ product family.”
